Jasper...a new man cat!

I am happy to report that Jasper (aka Big Boy) is home and doing very well after his neuter!

We are so proud of you Jasper for "doing the right thing!". Lucy (aka Fluff) will be next but after the holidays. We will keep you updated.

Happy and safe Holidays to everyone and Peace and Kindness on Earth.

It's been a long time....

Sorry for the lack of updates but I have had a very busy and interesting few months. I know there is no excuse for not updating but as luck would have it, it has been a challenge since my computer crashed and I was told "Buy a new computer" by the Geek Squad because it would be too expensive to fix the old one. Easier said than done since computers aren't exactly small purchases. Next best thing...my sons old computer refurbished...somewhat. And as said before I am blessed with a new job that I absolutely love but not without some unfortunate glitches and setbacks. But still I feel blessed to be where I truly feel appreciated. With that all being said the kittens are growing into gorgeous cats and are outgrowing their "room" so I am hoping to put the adoption search into full gear. They recently went for their 2nd vet visit and Abigail is going in January for her spay. Doctor Andrew was so patient and thorough with all of them including Abigail and he is a true cat lover and I love him for that. He is just a genuinely nice guy. I will try to post some new pictures. Meanwhile check out the two below. :)

Hannah and Bunny....

Hannah is still fostering three of Abigail's Angels who need special loving homes. Big Girl who is a very quiet and beautiful cat. She has a unique wrinkle in one of her ears that gives her a distinct look. She is big and very shiny and elegant.

Cheeks who is very vocal and sweet as sugar. She has a cute and sassy personality!

Bunny who is very warm and calm. We think she just might have a home!

We are happy to say that Lucy (aka Fluff) and Jasper (aka Big Boy) are loving their new home together and are spoiled and pampered....

Baby (now NOEL) has found a very special home with a very beautiful kitty friend, Shiloh, who welcomed her and is her new Big Sister.

We can only hope the other Angels find as wonderful homes as their siblings.

CHEEKS...I still need a home!!

Lucy (Fluff) and Jasper (Big Boy)

Just a quick update on our two lucky kitties who were adopted together by Meghan's family. They are doing great. They love their new home and have adapted wonderfully with the two family dogs. Their favorite spot is in the rocking chair next to the wood stove cuddling together and sleeping with Meghan (under the blankets!). They are very fortunate to have been adopted by this family. They are wonderful pet parents. I will have to get pictures up soon.

The lack of updates have been due to the new job and also helping Hannah with college applications. It has been an extraordinarily busy time in our house and I can't wait till we all have some down time to just enjoy each other :)

Great news!!!

I am so happy to announce that Fluff (now Lucy) and Big Boy (now Jasper) have been adopted by a wonderful family and the best part is that they are together and they have a terrific home! Hannah and I took the two this morning to their new abode and waiting for them was the exact kitty "boat" and the kitty play center they had here at their foster home. Their new family wanted to make the transition as smooth as possible and it went amazingly easy. When we arrived they got out of the crate and started sniffing around and Jasper was almost immediately comfortable. Lucy took a little more time but wasn't very long in following her brother in exploring every corner. We stayed about an hour and by the time we left they had curled up in the "boat" for a little nap. Last report was a few minutes ago that they are fine and are adjusting to their new surroundings.

I am so grateful to the new family for opening up their home and hearts to these adorable kitties! We will keep you posted.

Goodnight for now.

Great news!!!

Day of Transition

Today will be a big day in the foster home. Big Boy (now Jasper) will be going to his new home at Hannah's best friend, Meghan's house. It's not definite but we think they are considering adopting a second Angel. We are soooo excited that we almost can't believe how lucky we are because they are wonderful pet parents and we have no worries with them at all. Plus Hannah can visit and watch them become adult Angels. How could that have turned out any better?

Even with all this joy Hannah had a rough night last night. She and I spent a lot of time with the kittens last night and then I let her have some time with them alone. When she came to say goodnight, she was filled with tears. We knew this would be difficult. It is so hard to see them go but we know these (two?) will have the best of care and an amazing home.

It's going to be a good/sad day.

Bye for now.

Abigail's Angels

Well it is about the time to seriously be looking for furever homes for our little Angel's. They are eight weeks old and are growing and healthy and will soon be outgrowing "their room" as there are seven cats now living there. Momma and 6 growing kittens. Hannah and I have talked extensively about how hard it will be to say goodbye but we know this is why we are fostering.

We are happy to say that we are keeping Abigail (Momma). She had such a tough beginning in life and she has become a part of our family with her big heart and loving personality.

We have homes for both Bunny and Baby Boy and we are thrilled! So we so desperately need to find the perfect homes for Fluff, Baby, Big Girl and Cheeks.

Peace and Love,
Monica

Update on kittens

It has been so long since I posted an update. The kittens are growing and doing just fine. I was a little concerned as they have been quite reluctant to start on solid food and it has been a slow process. Bunny started weeks ago and the rest are just getting caught up. Seems three of them were quite content just nursing for a while. Big Girl was the most reluctant so the biggest of the litter now is the smallest in weight. Here's a little on each:

Big Girl: She is the stubborn girl who has decided to make me crazy with "why won't you just eat some kitten food?" She still loves dark corners and loves to find little spots to hid and pounce on a passerby. She is a beautiful shiny black (and white) like her Mom but with a lot more black. She has the most amazing white whiskers that stand out so against her black fur.

Baby: Well, Baby has become one of the best at eating the solids. She is very playful and can hold her own against any of her siblings. If you recall, she was so much smaller than the rest. Now she is in the middle as far as size. She loves to fall asleep on any body part she can curl into and has a unique coloring. Stripes and a tiny little blaze up her nose.

Boy: Boy has a perfect little face with big lovable eyes. He loves to eat anything up you put down and has beautiful black and white fur. He still has the half white nose and a blaze of white up his nose. His favorite spot is on Hannah's purple bean bag chair. He will curl up on it fall asleep or jump up on the chair and dive into it.

Cheeks: Cheeks is another stubborn eater. She hasn't quite decided it is time to leave Mom alone a little and go for the big girl food. She has the cute little white cheeks and loves kisses. She loves to lick skin so it seems she can make a meal of that.

Fluff: Fluff just started eating and discovered it is delicious. She has amazing long fur and a beautiful foxy face. She is very mischievious. Just when you think you are having a little loving from her she will give you a little nip. If you tell her "no" she looks at you with that adorable face as if to say, "I sorry!" and then you melt and all is well.

Bunny: Bunny is definitely a people kitty. She wants individual attention and kitten kisses. She discovered Hannah's bed recently and rolled around and rubbed her face all over it. She loves to roll on things she likes including people. Bunny has a cute little white mustache. Hannah says when she opens her mouth wide she looks like a little horse. Don't ask me how. I just don't know. :)

Next week will be their 8 week birthday and we have to seriously start looking for homes and starting the adoption process. It will be difficult but I am praying we will be as fortunate as the Maples. They are amazing little creatures.

Bye now.

Kitten Update

Hi Everyone,

I have been so busy with getting ready for my new job and the kids ready for school I have not been able to update as often as I want. Although I am lacking in time we certainly are not lacking in excitement with the kittens. Today was a huge milestone. Two of the kittens have finally decided to eat kitten food. After almost 2 weeks of trying to introduce them to solid food, "Bunny" and "Baby" suddenly and very enthusiastically started eating canned kitten food today. I was with the kittens and Hannah earlier and Hannah and I were putting little bits on their lips and they were again acting as though we were insulting them with messing up their cute little kitten faces. So later I was downstairs helping my youngest son with summer reading reports on his last day of summer vacation (he had all summer to do!) and I heard a scream from upstairs and I ran up thinking "oh God what's wrong" and I barreled into the "Cat Room" and Hannah is sitting on the floor smiling ear to ear and pointing to "Bunny". She was gulping this kitten food like no tomorrow! Well, book reports on hold cause we all just sat and stared at the amazing fury in which this kitty was devouring this food. Then low and behold..."Baby" was over at Mommy's dish licking away at what she left behind and then we added the baby food and she went to town. Long story short it is 8:30 pm and book reports are just being printed and I just had to get this update on. Tomorrow is first day of school for my son and Hannah starts next week so I will be updating as much as time allows. But rest assured the kittens are growing and playing and are sooooo much fun. I can't wait to post the adorable pictures....hopefully tomorrow.

Kitty update

Hi Everyone,

I am so happy to see you all popping in from The Adventures of Space Paws. It warms my heart to see all of the positive comments and hope you find Abigail's Angels as adorable as we do.

We went from a bundle of six kittens who stayed almost where you leave them to a scattered bunch of playful, happy, curious little kittens in a matter of days. I am amazed at their ability to do so much more in such a short time.

We have known for sometime that Abigail had ear mites but the medication we purchased said not to use on pregnant or nursing cats. We were waiting it out but then we think the kittens must have acquired them too from momma. Over the weekend Sonia went to the vet and got stuff that can be used on Abigail and the kittens. We were able to treat all of them even though they are still tiny. They seemed very upset with the first doses but we are on day three and they don't seem at all upset anymore. They take off running when we are finished giving their drops and just resume playing. Yay!!!

A Little on each of their personalities so far.......

Big Girl (who by the way has been caught up in the weight department by Cheeks) is the intellectual. She seems to think everything out and loves dark spots like under the bookshelves or in corners. She has discovered the basket we keep all of the toys in and loves to sit in it and play with the little jingly balls by herself. She plays with the others but will be the first to say "Enough!" and go into her little "boat" to rest.

Baby (who is Big Girls BBF) has really come out of the kinks. She had me worried. She is still 3 oz. smaller than Big Girl but is playing and exploring like the rest now. She also loves to cuddle by herself and play with her paws until she falls asleep.

Cheeks is an explorer and loves to wrestle with any of his litter mates that happen to get close enough for the "take down". She is very active and one of the last to fall asleep.

Bunny is the first to jump in Hannah's lap and try to get "all" of the attention. She literally "hops" over any obstacles. Hannah came up with the name Bunny BEFORE we knew she had this amazing ability.:)

Baby Boy...well what can I say? He is surrounded by females. He is very playful but also laid back and observant. He and Cheeks love to wrestle each other.

Fluff she is definitely a long haired kitty and very beautiful. When she first started walking and running around the room she had trouble with the hardwood floors and would slide backward. We couldn't help but laugh but she now has mastered them running full speed ahead. She, like all of the kittens, run toward us as soon as we walk into their room and immediately let us know...IT IS PLAYTIME!!

Kitten Update

The kittens are 3 weeks and 2 days old today and we can hardly believe how much more they do in just a days time. We finally decided it was time to let them have the "run" (and I do mean run) of the whole room now. We thought it would be a gradual thing but the kittens had something else in mind. They have explored so far only half of the room. We are thinking because momma Abigail rounds them up when they get too far.We think it is only a matter of time (hours maybe days) that she won't be able to see all six of them going in different directions. Right now when she feels they are getting a little too far from her, she will let out a little half purr half meow (Cat talk for "Get your little behinds back here!") and they come running back. But they are surely testing the "waters" so to speak.

Kitten Update

I am repeating some of this from my comments to Lisa but just in case others don't read the comments....here is a quick update on Abigail's Angels.

They are growing and really getting active and we knew the "box in the corner" was not going to contain these little ones for much longer. Just so happens, I happened upon a sidewalk sale at a pet store on Friday and they were selling a "cat house/crate" type thing that is tall and has several levels. I purchased it and have moved the family in till they get old enough to roam their room. Abigail did not seem pleased at first and did not want to go into the new "home" but we are able to keep the doors open and have put the "box" into the new home till she felt comfortable enough and till we know they can't escape. They seem so tiny to be so curious but as soon as their eyes opened they obviously decided "there is a big world out there" and they are determined to see it. When Lisa came to visit we talked about the difference in sizes of the kittens. Four of them seem to be about the same size and then we have our "little runt" and our "big girl". Little "runt" is quite a bit smaller and seems to be our noisy one and "big girl" is significantly bigger and is really quiet and less active than the others. What is curious is that the two of them seem to have teamed up so to speak. They always cuddle together and seek each other out when they aren't nursing. When it comes to nursing it's every one for them selves and seems to be to a constant struggle and tug of war until they each settle in and eventually fall asleep. Well, I just realised this was suppose to be a "quick" update and I just keep on going so I will end for now but rest assured there is no end to the cuteness and smiles when we are with our Angels.
